This blog aims to shed light on the significance of preventive care in women’s health, focusing on cancer detection and the screenings essential at various stages of life. Early detection is not just beneficial; it can be life-saving.

Screenings Based on Age and Symptoms

1. Breast Cancer Screening

  • Mammograms: Recommended annually for women aged 45–54. Women aged 55 and older can switch to mammograms every two years, or continue annually.
  • Breast MRI: For women at high risk, an annual MRI in addition to mammograms is advised.
  • Breast Self-Examination (BSE): Encouraged monthly for women of all ages to identify any changes.

2. Cervical Cancer Screening

  • Pap Test (Pap Smear): Starting at age 21, women should have a Pap test every three years.
  • HPV Test: Beginning at age 30, it can be combined with a Pap test every five years until age 65.

3. Colorectal Cancer Screening

  • Colonoscopy: Starting at age 50, or earlier based on family history, women should have a colonoscopy every 10…
